© Anne Launcelott 2007

I am passionate about taking photographs and I love to travel to countries that are culturally different from my own. I am interested in photographing the world as it is, whether walking the streets of Halifax or in some far away locale. In this digital age, with fewer and fewer images we see being honest representations of real life, I feel my kind of photography is more important than ever. The people, their stories, and the themes of everyday life that I photograph are my way of discovering the world around me.

I want to replicate as close as possible, through the printed image, what my eye saw and recorded through the lens of the camera. I want to share with the viewer what “stopped” me, be it colour, texture, light or gesture.

I only use available light, I do not use a tripod, and I rarely crop. It is what it is.

This site will continue to evolve as my eye and mind, through the lens of my camera, continue to explore the inherent beauty of everyday objects and life around me.
