I have always loved making art and enjoy numerous outlets for my creativity. I owned my first camera at the age of 14 and have had a passion for photography ever since. My work has evolved from the wet black and white darkroom to colour digital photography where I continue to explore “ways of seeing” the world around me.

My introduction to Miksang photography opened my eye and mind to photography as a contemplative art form rather than mere documentation and the beauty of the “every day” around me. I love nothing more than going for a walk, camera in hand, and being totally in tune with what is around me.

I love to travel, and the camera is an extension of myself, as I go nowhere without it. Through the medium of colour photography, I have been able to combine my love of texture, colour, light and shadow and, in the case of people, gesture.  My other artistic pursuits came up short of being able to combine all these elements, and the fact that I love to travel and am able to continue to express my creative side through my camera where ever I go is so rewarding for me.

I do all my own printing and framing as I love this aspect of the art form also. I am thus able to control the printing process in order to replicate, through the printed image, what my eye saw and recorded through the lens of the camera. I want to share with the viewer exactly what I saw and what attracted me, be it colour, texture, light and shadow, or gesture.

This site will continue to evolve as my eye and mind, through the lens of my camera, continue to explore the beauty of common, everyday objects and life around me, whether I am here at home in Halifax, Nova Scotia or on my travels.
